A few good answers.

How do I change my Tesla lock sound?

On a compatible vehicle, copy a short file named LockChime.wav to the root of a USB drive, connect it to a data-capable port, and select USB in the vehicle’s Lock Sound settings. Check the option in your parked vehicle first.

Are the sound downloads free?

Yes. Preview and download published sounds without an account. Each sound page lists its source and permission: CC0 designs, commissioned AI sounds, and community submissions can have different reuse terms.

Check sound licenses

Can I use my own music or audio?

Use the free browser converter or Sound Studio to trim audio you have permission to use. Exports are short, mono, 16-bit PCM WAV files at 44.1 kHz, under 1 MB. Uploading audio into the editor keeps editing local; sharing requires a separate submission.

Convert your audio

Does every Tesla support custom lock sounds?

No. Support depends on the vehicle’s hardware, software, and region, including its Pedestrian Warning System. A format-checked WAV file does not enable an unavailable vehicle feature.
