A few ground rules.

Use the service with care.

The site provides audio files, a browser converter, guides, and an optional AI sound studio. It does not connect to or remotely control vehicles. You are responsible for checking your vehicle’s current manual and whether your hardware, software, and regional settings support custom lock sounds. Preview files and test while safely parked.

Sound licenses are specific.

Our original library WAVs are marked with their source and license on each detail page. Initial procedural library sounds are offered under CC0 1.0 to the extent permitted by applicable law. The license does not grant rights to Tesla trademarks, website artwork, another party’s material, or private AI output. Read the licensing page for the distinctions.

Your uploads and prompts.

Only use audio and ideas you have permission to use. Do not submit requests to impersonate real people, clone voices, reproduce protected recordings, or create unlawful material. The converter keeps your source audio local. AI prompts are processed by an external provider and should not contain sensitive personal information.

AI studio access.

The studio is for people who are at least 18 and at least the age of majority in their location. A verified account is required. Free allowances, available models, budgets, and service availability can change. Results may not match your prompt. We do not promise that every output is unique, free of third-party claims, or suitable for every use.

Outputs are private by default and retained locally for seven days. Download results you want to keep. We do not automatically publish them. Provider terms also apply to generated material. Failed jobs can return your user credit without erasing provider costs incurred by the project.

Keep the service fair.

Do not bypass quotas, automate abusive downloads or generation requests, interfere with the site, or attempt to access another person’s private files. Do not click ads to support us artificially, and do not encourage others to do so. Downloading sounds does not require interacting with advertising.

Availability and responsibility.

The service and files are provided as available, without a guarantee of compatibility, uptime, suitability, or particular results. To the extent allowed by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for losses caused by unsupported vehicle configurations, lost USB data, or use beyond the documented purpose. Nothing here excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Independent project.

LockChime is not affiliated with Tesla, Inc. We may update these terms as the service changes. The revision date appears at the top of this page.
